"HOPE" Animated portrait of Bobby Kennedy captures the crowd's aspirations of hope dating from the beginning of his presidential campaign.

PHOTOGRAPHER'S STATEMENT: The camera I used for all of the Kennedy photographs was an original Motorized Nikon F with Nikkor Lenses. The photograph was taken with a 300mm Nikkor telephoto lens, a personal favorite for available light portrait photography. Exposures were made on Kodak TRI-X film. The original transparencies and negatives have been kept in dark storage and are in pristine condition for their vintage.

WHAT IS A HP Z3100 PRINTER? All of our 1968 RFK prints are sourced directly from the original 35mm Kodak Tri-X negatives and Ektachrome film materials. The Hewlett-Packard Designjet Z3100 is a new 12 ink archival wide format inkjet printer we employ to make all of our fine art prints, and for the most part is replacing traditional prints made in the darkroom. Because of the technical advancements in high-end giclee printers, we have switched over from the darkroom environment... substantially upgrading our print quality over traditional silver based prints. The Z3100 more than doubles the life expectancy on our B&W and on Color there is a five fold increase of fade resistance. According to Wilhelm Imaging, prints can last well over 200 years! This is a quadtone B&W print, currently the last word in museum grade archival quality. Fine tonal and contrast adjustments to the original negative, once thought to be near impossible are achievable with an absolute precision. Prints have a marvelous 3D like depth with plenty of punch. We're sure you will be delighted. All Z3100 prints are mounted on foam core and shrink wrapped to fully protect them from dust, finger prints or possible scratches. Using UV glass in the framing process will offer additional fade resistance to 250 years!
