My vintage documentary portrait of Don Burns shucking corn at the Genzale Produce Stand as it looked in the summer of 1980. It was included in the popular "Market & Square" photographic calendar published in the fall throughout the Seattle area. This is one of the 12 images selected for the calendar which offered unique images of the authentic Pike Place Farmer's Market and the Pioneer Square area.
Part of a larger 1980 photographic art calendar project entitled "Market & Square." The popular calendar was dedicated to the many people who fought for the preservation of Pioneer Square and the Pike Place Market... and to the Artisans, Farmers, Street Musicians, Merchants and everyone who has ever known the market and Square.
My documentary image was made utilizing a Nikon F2 film camera. The detail is enhanced by my use of an ultra sharp 24mm Nikkor lens. The exposure was made on Kodak Plus X film. The original negatives have been kept in dark storage and are in pristine condition.
