Here is my homage to the King of LSD from my original negatives. In 1967 Leary made waves across the United States with his use of psychedelic drugs. During his speech (at Portland State) he kept everyone guessing as to whether or not the "colorless and oderless" liquid he drank before a thousand or so students at the College Center was the real deal. My art print rekindles the psychedelic "ACID" flavor of the times. The original black and white film was converted to a high contrast lith (some years back) and just revisited in an inventive interpretation, born anew. The print is without typography and features my signature- what is seen above is for the display.
ABOUT MY PORTRAITS: Timothy Leary spoke at Portland State College in 1967. After his appearance I found him sitting alone in a smaller annex room reserved for teachers eating lunch. I approached him with my motorized Nikon in hand and sat down to join him at his table. We started talking and I commenced to "blow" a roll of 35mm film while we made conversation. In this sequence Leary is reacting to my photographing him- just like someone might do alone in and old fashioned photomat parlor- cruising from one inventive pose change to another.

ABOUT ELIZABETH GRAF:
"I have a HUGE body of work which not only includes paintings, but drawings and photographs. I plan in the future to present prints for sale besides my paintings. I have shown in galleries and art shows but I think I have found my perfect "niche" in Etsy -- selling online allows me the maximum amount of time to tend to my artwork and artist's psyche!"
"MY PAINTINGS TELL STORIES" - My GREATEST inspiration in my childhood were the illustrations by John R. Neill for The Wizard of Oz series of books. The black and white drawings danced, flowed, moved out of the page -- so powerful! Other inspirations include "everything tropical", marine life, Chinese/Asian, flowers/plants (scenes from my property) and the look of French Provence linens and their colors -- well, let's just say: EVERYTHING!" About Joann Biondi:
Joann Biondi is a photographer and writer whose work has appeared in dozens of publications including The New York Times, National Geographic Traveler, Miami Herald, USA Today, Islands, and Travel & Leisure.
Her collection of Lorenzo the Cat photos challenge preconceived notions of what a cat will or will not do. They lie outside the grid of convention, and deliver a new perspective on the cliché of cats being stubborn and aloof. It is the juxtaposition of human clothing on a cat’s body that renders them startling, and at the same time, enchanting, intriguing, and compelling. Simple yet strange, the photos are a testament to the inherent beauty in the feline form. They spark the imagination, force us to smile, and speak to the bond among all sentient beings. And they are thump on the head to anyone who believes that animals don’t have souls.
Biondi has donated Lorenzo the Cat prints to raise money for animal shelters in Florida and bird relief efforts following the Gulf Coast oil spill. She was one of 125 acclaimed photographers who donated their prints to Eyes and Hearts for Haiti, a post-earthquake art auction that raised money for Friends of the Orphans in Haiti. In August, her work was on display at the Nave Gallery in Somerville, Mass. In November it was exhibited at the Grove House Artists Gallery in Miami, Florida. From October of 2010 till February of 2011, the Cornell Museum of Art and American Culture hosted an exhibit of her Lorenzo the Cat photography.
