These are the remains of a Sitka tree, once part of a forest standing along the Oregon Coastline at Neskowin, partially petrified and nearly 1,700 years old. The trees were exposed for the first time (just recently) when the beach sand was not replaced after winter storms, something that is new for this coastline and may be the result of global warming. Now barnacles grow on them and they are beginning to decompose. The next quake is overdue, so please enjoy. This scene will vanish when it is subducted during the next quake. Photographed on September 26, 2009.
This archival giclee print offers an exquisite range of color, tone and brilliancy faithfully capturing this atmospheric subject. Although the view is wide the perspective is natural inviting the eye to explore the scene in all of its glorious detail. Makes a strong impression. Suitable for immediate safe viewing (the print is shrink wrapped on foam core board) and ready for framing.

Curated by Elizabeth Graf, a talented artist painter whose work maybe viewed at:
I grew up on Long Island, New York, which is an island AND a long peninsula (connected by bridges) not far from the beach and I now live in Florida, which is a long peninsula (connected by land) -- and I am not far from the beach. From the moment I could hold a crayon I have been an artist -- and possessed a "light bulb" inside my head that was always shining. It is a wonderful way to live Life -- being creative and always inspired. I feel very lucky.
I have shown in Manhattan, upstate New York, on both coasts of Florida (including Miami and Miami Beach). For a while I had an 8 foot x 8 foot mural along Collins Avenue in South Beach. One of the paintings on this website was made into a billboard that stood for a month along the bay in Sarasota, FL.

Bella Rosina is Italian for beautiful rose. Once when I asked my Grandfather to tell me some stories about my Grandmother, he said to me, "she is my rose, my beautiful rose." Rose is my Grandmother's name and as a little girl growing up in New York, her mother, who was a recent immigrant from Italy, called her "Rosina" which translates to Rose. My Grandfather was right, my Grandmother is a beautiful Rose and even more so when she wears Bella Rosina Jewelry!
