Image captures clouds reflected on the hood of a 1966 Corvette Sting Ray. As illustrated the car's insignia is shown highlighted on the hood's mirror perfect finish. The interpretive image juxtaposes the abstraction of sky and clouds reflected into the natural deep blue of the mirror perfect finish on the car's hood with the classic Corvette checkered flag insignia. The flattened deadpan perspective (cropped in closely) heightens a sense of speed as if the raised cowling (center curvilinear vertical forms in the photo) were in flight... altogether an inspiring metaphor for this beloved era of American design. The car was featured as part of the annual Flashback Cruz (August 2, 2008) held at Drake Park nearby downtown Bend, Oregon. It was reported that over 402 classic cars, 30 club cars and 70 vendor cars on display.

ABOUT CLYDE KELLER:

Hi, I'm a photographer and artist selling my fine art prints at clydekellerphoto.etsy.com.

My work is sold as Fine Art Giclee (inkjet) prints or fade resistant Fuji Crystal Archive (photographic) prints.

Clyde is known internationally for his historic photographs of Robert F. Kennedy. His RFK images are featured in Rory Kennedy's documentary film, "ETHEL" which debuted at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights has recently acquired key images from Clyde's RFK portfolios for their collection. Historic photos of author Ken Kesey, William Burroughs and actor Bill Murray are featured in Mark Christensen's book Acid Christ. Clyde's portrait of actor/director Warren Beatty is the cover photo for Peter Biskind's, Star. Several vintage documentary images appear in a new NFL films project, entitled, "Fearsome Foursome" as well as Dan Forrer's upcoming HBO documentary film centering on the birth of Hip Hop music. The Seattle Museum of History and Science now features his vintage Seattle skyline panoramas. His regional portraits of surviving pioneer families (and characters) appear in several new books, periodicals and webzines, including Ken Bilderback's, Creek with No Name, a new soft cover about the history of Cherry Grove, Oregon.

Clyde is the grandson of Clyde Leon Keller, (1872-1962) an important Oregon-based Plein-Air Impressionist Painter. His portfolios can be viewed at www.clydekeller.com.

Artist Statement:

I am Louise, an artist and metalsmith, and have been designing and creating jewelry for many, many years. Okay, decades! I have designed and sold many thousands of rings, earrings, necklaces and such, to people all over my home state of Connecticut. I love what I do for a living!

And now I've entered this very cool global marketplace!

I design and make each piece, using traditional metal-smithing techniques. Some of my pieces are one of a kind, but mostly I work in short runs. Usually not more than 6 of one design. Each one is quite unique because I work freehand for all of the layout and texturing. No two will look exactly alike.

I design jewelry for today's woman. She is intelligent, self-confident, discerning, and likes to have a bit of fun. With a strong appreciation for the arts and artisans, she loves wearing one-of-a kind pieces that make a statement. The statement could be bold, sleek, artsy, feminine, or playful! But she will look and feel great!

Artist Statement:

Printmaking appeals to me because it is full of mystery and surprises and gives me lots of opportunities to experiment with different techniques and material. I have been exhibiting work since 2006; my next major exhibition is at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery in Sydney in June 2012. I've also studied bookbinding and enjoy making artists books as well as individual prints

Artist Statement:

I grew up on Long Island, New York, which is an island AND a long peninsula (connected by bridges) not far from the beach and I now live in Florida, which is a long peninsula (connected by land) -- and I am not far from the beach. From the moment I could hold a crayon I have been an artist -- and possessed a "light bulb" inside my head that was always shining. It is a wonderful way to live Life -- being creative and always inspired. I feel very lucky.

I was privileged to attend one of the finest art schools in this country -- Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in Manhattan -- there I met very talented and interesting people. I have shown in Manhattan, upstate New York, on both coasts of Florida (including Miami and Miami Beach). For a while I had an 8 foot x 8 foot mural along Collins Avenue in South Beach. One of the paintings on this website was made into a billboard that stood for a month along the bay in Sarasota, FL.

I like to see the good and beauty in everyone and everything. It is my hope that my artwork reflects these feelings.
