This larger 16x20 inch print gets close to the mood these Native American works of art put me into when I stood before them. The print translation preserves the natural color of the totems but captures a surreal atmospheric rendering inspired by the park setting.

The eight totems found within Stanley Park facing Coal Harbor representing various Indian equivalents for their "Coat of Arms." From left to right hey are the Oscar Maltipi Pole, Beaver Crest Pole, Chief Eakas Pole, Sky Chief Pole, Kaka'solas, Thunderbird House Post, Ga'akstalas and the Chief Skedans Mortuary Pole, far right. These unique totems are all carved from western red cedar. In this interpretive documentary arts photo the background has been given a dreamy quality while the totems remain in their full color in the mid day sun. The effect allows the totems to float against this dreamy backdrop and to emerge within the context of their spirit. Please enjoy.

This larger 16x20 inch archival giclee print offers an exquisite range of color, tone and brilliancy faithfully capturing this historical Native American subject. Makes a strong impression. Suitable for immediate safe viewing (the print is sleeved on acid free board) and ready for framing.

ABOUT CLYDE KELLER:

Hi, I'm a photographer and artist selling my fine art prints at clydekellerphoto.etsy.com.

My work is sold as Fine Art Giclee (inkjet) prints or fade resistant Fuji Crystal Archive (photographic) prints.

Clyde is known internationally for his historic photographs of Robert F. Kennedy. His RFK images are featured in Rory Kennedy's documentary film, "ETHEL" which debuted at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights has recently acquired key images from Clyde's RFK portfolios for their collection. Historic photos of author Ken Kesey, William Burroughs and actor Bill Murray are featured in Mark Christensen's book Acid Christ. Clyde's portrait of actor/director Warren Beatty is the cover photo for Peter Biskind's, Star. Several vintage documentary images appear in a new NFL films project, entitled, "Fearsome Foursome" as well as Dan Forrer's upcoming HBO documentary film centering on the birth of Hip Hop music. The Seattle Museum of History and Science now features his vintage Seattle skyline panoramas. His regional portraits of surviving pioneer families (and characters) appear in several new books, periodicals and webzines, including Ken Bilderback's, Creek with No Name, a new soft cover about the history of Cherry Grove, Oregon.

ABOUT:

I have an insatiable passion for painting -- which I work on every day. I live to paint!

I have a HUGE body of work which not only includes paintings, but drawings and photographs. I have shown in galleries and art shows but I think I have found my perfect "niche" in Etsy -- selling online allows me the maximum amount of time to tend to my artwork and artist's psyche! My paintings are in private collections all over the world.

"MY PAINTINGS TELL STORIES" - My GREATEST inspiration in my childhood were the illustrations by John R. Neill for The Wizard of Oz series of books. The black and white drawings danced, flowed, moved out of the page -- so powerful! Other inspirations include "everything tropical", marine life, Chinese/Asian, flowers/plants (scenes from my property) and the look of French Provence linens and their colors -- well, let's just say: EVERYTHING!

Artist Statement:

I am a printmaker, collage artist and nature lover residing in the Austin Hill country. I make handmade paper using plant materials from my garden. I am also a photographer. Photography and artist-made paper come together very nicely in the form of solar plate etchings and multiple layers of papers. My process is very labor intensive, but made with much love. You will also see symbols and patterns introduced in many works. I create my own patterns and am fascinated with ancient symbols. I feel somehow they hold the secrets to life.
