Clearly visible as one approaches the US Canada Border Crossing is the Peace Arch with the respective flags of Canada and the United States perched on top. On a busy day there's enough time to get out and enjoy the grounds as traffic creeps slowly forward. One such female visitor is shown in a restful pose at the base of this monument looking towards Canada. A beautiful bronze casting of an ancient wooden sailing ship enroute to explore the New World completes the composition. Meditating upon this observed moment, I became swept up into the "Stream of History" imagining the millions of immigrants who have made Canada and the United States their home. Posed on the border it was a moment observed, "Between Friends."

The print combines both color and black and white components providing a brilliant tonal scale. Please enjoy!

Part of my Doubles Series of Concurrent Coincidences, Double Entendre, Intriguing Pairs, Paradox and Irony.

Hi, I'm a photographer and artist selling my fine art prints at

My work is sold as Fine Art Giclee (inkjet) prints or fade resistant Fuji Crystal Archive (photographic) prints.

Clyde is known internationally for his historic photographs of Robert F. Kennedy. His RFK images are featured in Rory Kennedy's documentary film, "ETHEL" which debuted at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights has recently acquired key images from Clyde's RFK portfolios for their collection. Historic photos of author Ken Kesey, William Burroughs and actor Bill Murray are featured in Mark Christensen's book Acid Christ. Clyde's portrait of actor/director Warren Beatty is the cover photo for Peter Biskind's, Star. Several vintage documentary images appear in a new NFL films project, entitled, "Fearsome Foursome" as well as Dan Forrer's upcoming HBO documentary film centering on the birth of Hip Hop music. The Seattle Museum of History and Science now features his vintage Seattle skyline panoramas. His regional portraits of surviving pioneer families (and characters) appear in several new books, periodicals and webzines, including Ken Bilderback's, Creek with No Name, a new soft cover about the history of Cherry Grove, Oregon.

Clyde is the grandson of Clyde Leon Keller, (1872-1962) an important Oregon-based Plein-Air Impressionist Painter. His portfolios can be viewed at

About Katie McClanahan:

I was born with the DIY gene. I inherited it from my mother.

I design jewelry using an eclectic assortment of vintage, thrifted, found and contemporary components that are hand-knotted, wire-wrapped or simply strung. My jewelry is inspired by my love of the sea, the mountains where we camp out under the stars, and the plants that surround me in my everyday life.

Everything you see in my shop is designed, made, packaged and shipped by me. When you convo my shop, I am the one that responds. That's me too on social media. It's a lot of work, but I love every minute of it.

I started making jewelry when my husband broke his ankle, which shut down our construction company for a while. I bought supplies and dove right in. I needed something to do now that I had all of this free time on my hands. It was the perfect past time. I continued to make jewelry after we went back to work.
I was selling my work locally and at shows. A friend turned me onto Etsy at a Christmas party in '05. In the winter of '06, I opened my shop and the rest is history.

When I'm not in the studio, I can be found toting tools around my latest restoration project, working in the gardens, concocting herbal remedies, whipping up bath and beauty products for myself or floating on my raft at Crystal Lake ~ dreaming of the sea.
