Here he is shown, stalwart, as he warmly greets his supporters.

"Stadium Rally Motorcade" Eugene, Oregon May 17, 1968
16x20 Inch BW Archival Giclee Print Image Dimensions are 11.3x17 inches Heavyweight Epson Satin Paper Signed/Dated on lower white border
Clear Sleeved on Foam Core Shipped Flat, Insured with Tracking
One of my more kinetic documentary images of the campaign motorcade offers an expansive view of Robert's departure to the University of Oregon to speak before students and faculty. The event was part of Bobby's Whistle Stop tour and the last city to be visited on this day. RFK is shown amidst a very busy street scene with his bodyguard, Bill Barry shown stage right. His determination to end the Vietnam War was presented at the stadium less than 30 minutes later.
The photograph was taken with a 28mm Nikkor lens. Exposures were made on Kodak TRI-X film. I used the original pristine negative to produce this razor sharp, brilliantly toned print. Robert Kennedy fought for Civil Rights as Attorney General; his positive vision for the advancement of peace, justice, equality and responsibility is still relevant today. This image is part of a portfolio of images selected by the RFK Center and the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority in a promotion (Fall 2008) celebrating the renaming of their Triborough Bridge to the RFK Bridge. Kennedy fought for Civil Rights as Attorney General; his positive vision for the advancement of peace, justice, equality and responsibility is still relevant today. In this documentary portrait, RFK is shown greeting children after addressing the Kennedy Action Corp at Sunnyside Grade School in Portland, Oregon. He followed in the footsteps of his brother, President John F. Kennedy, to encourage citizen participation in domestic and international programs such as the Peace Corps which would make real differences in the lives of people. Like his elder brother he renounced the unworkable dogmas that held both Russia and the U.S. in seemingly intractable positions. Robert embraced peaceful coexistence in an era of militarism and like his brother was receptive to a standing down from armed rivalry with Russia. As visionaries the Kennedys stood for ideals that could not only lead to peaceful coexistence but transcend the antagonisms generated by opposing social systems.

In documentary photograph, taken at the downtown Portland Kennedy Campaign Headquarters, female supporters stand holding their placards in anticipation of Bobby's arrival. Many signs are featured including one with a slogan entitled, "BEAT 'EM BOBBY."
Robert made many speeches during the Oregon Campaign and spoke out strongly for the advancement of Civil and Human Rights as well as about ending the Vietnam War. "Ripple of Hope" is lifted from these times and is concurrent with his campaign speeches made during the last three weeks of his life.
Following in the footsteps of his brother, President John F. Kennedy, he renounced the unworkable dogmas that held both Russia and the U.S. in seemingly intractable positions.
