Our latest encounter with Marty Christiansen came in 2003 when he performed his poem, "Bats" on stage at the Bagdad Theater and Pub in Portland, Oregon. The event celebrated the publishing of "Spit In The Ocean #7 All About Kesey" edited by Ed McClanahan. Burroughs, who died at age 83 in 1997 from a heart attack, figured largely at the1976 Poetic Hoo Ha, reading from his celebrated work, "Naked Lunch."
