A Bridge to Peace International Day of Peace, September 21, 2011 On the Portland bridge, Bend, Oregon
On December 17, 2008, the Bend City Council proclaimed the Portland Avenue bridge the Peace Bridge of Bend. The Portland Avenue bridge crosses the Deschutes River and is adjacent to two parks, Pacific and Pioneer. In this documentary image supporters for the International Day of Peace gathered on the Portland Bridge on September 21, 2010. Pictured is Meg Brookover, and other members of Code Pink and supporters who continue to advance the ideas for a world without war. The International Day of Peace ("Peace Day") provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of peace on a shared date. An Owl Amongst Poppies, abstract art print, Clyde Keller photo
An Owl Amongst Poppies Abstract study of sculpture in garden Bend, Oregon
The Owl is shown "face-on" to heighten the sense of a flattened two dimensional plane. Within the framework of the composition, abstract line and color are juxtaposed to the three dimensional pictorial compositional elements... making for a delightful visual potpouri. The Central Oregon image captures a wistful feeling which has been fully realized in the print making process.

Here is a splendid view of a most popular, cold-hardy backyard chicken, the handsome Buff Orpington Cock, shown here perched on a basaltic lava rock surveying his domain-- telling of the austere high desert terrain of Central Oregon.
Customer Feedback & Commentary:
"Buff Orpingtons are extremely gentle for backyard chicken fans. They're inquisitive and friendly. We have an Orpington rooster that was recently attacked and carried off by a stray dog after defending his flock. He fought his way free from the dog and came back home injured but as gentle as ever. One can learn a lot from an Orpington, if one tries." Ken Bilderback
One of my faves... especially since I now have hens of my own. Rebecca Dresser
I am an ardent fan-- do visit his shop and follow his hourney though his special and exciting Photo Odyssey. - Vicki Diane
"I love this picture Clyde. Had chicken when I lived in Santa Fe, NM." - Iris Karina

NORTHEST FOLK features Clyde Keller documentary photographs drawn from the rural areas of Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. Many of the photographs were published and are presented in this portfolio for the first time. Of particular note are the rural subjects who comprise the "Valley People" and "Skagit Spring" series, both publishing projects centering on the original pioneer families and survivors of the pioneers who first settled these regions. There's a good measure of Americana in this collection as well with colorful iconic characters who bring to life the lore, history and traditions of the Pacific NW peoples.

Corvette Sky, museum grade art print, original Clyde Keller photo
Corvette Sky Classic Sting Ray Car Hood Reflections of Sky and Clouds
Image captures clouds reflected on the hood of a 1966 Corvette Sting Ray. As illustrated the car's insignia is shown highlighted on the hood's mirror perfect finish. The interpretive image juxtaposes the abstraction of sky and clouds reflected into the natural deep blue of the mirror perfect finish on the car's hood with the classic Corvette checkered flag insignia. The flattened deadpan perspective (cropped in closely) heightens a sense of speed as if the raised cowling (center curvilinear vertical forms in the photo) were in flight... altogether an inspiring metaphor for this beloved era of American design. The car was featured as part of the annual Flashback Cruz held at Drake Park nearby downtown Bend, Oregon. It was reported that over 402 classic cars, 30 club cars and 70 vendor cars on display.

"VALLES MARINERIS CANYON ABSTRACTION" Visions of Mars from the Street
16x20 Inch Archival B&W Giclee Print Image Dimensions are @12x16 inches Heavyweight Epson Satin Paper Signed/Dated on lower white border
Clear Sleeved on Foam Core Shipped Flat, Insured with Tracking Here is an image taken from the street in the late afternoon in my neighborhood with fascinating textures, shadows and forms. This just struck me as having a delicate balance with rubble seemingly in opposition to the "Mars-Like Canyon" (Mariner Valley, also known as the 2,500 long, Valles Marineris Canyon) dashing laterally across the lower center of the print. The long vertically cast shadows set up a delightful contrasting visual rhythm. This type of image changes rapidly, so the impulse to shoot had to be decisive... no lingering with the onset of fading light. Please Enjoy!
