Alfred Eisenstaedt (American, b. Germany, 1898-1995) is considered one of the top tier photographers of LIFE Magazine and has been named the "father of photojournalism." His images of news events and celebrities, such as Dagmar, Sophia Loren and Ernest Hemingway, appeared on 90 Life covers. This portrait of Robert F. Kennedy (captured 12 noon, 1960) is one of the rarest, highly regarded and most valuable prints from his portfolio. It has been included in a number of important exhibitions including the "The Eye of Eisenstaedt" comprising over sixty important, "little-known gems, and never-before-exhibited photographs" held at the Monroe Gallery of Photography located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
