Oregon Coast Seance, Clyde Keller photo art print
Oregon Coast Seance Oregon Coast at Arch Cape May 1976
Large 20x30 Inch archival giclee art print Satin paper, pigmented inks Image dimensions @ 17x28 Inches with white border Signed/titled and dated by Clyde Keller
Presented in Archival Sleeve, Unframed Shipped flat, insured with delivery confirmation
From original Kodachrome 35mm film exposure
Oregon Coast Seance is a surreal study in light and form inspired by the beautiful monolithic "haystack" rock found at Arch Cape on the Oregon Coast. The 1976 Kodachrome captures the unusual lighting from the sun on a beautiful afternoon in late May. The original was used as the source for this multiple mirror image rendering. The fine art print realization creates the feel of a Mandala which gives emphasis to the patterns caused by the unusual lighting and exquisite variation in coloration.
This poetic image is included in a larger documentary project concerning the beauty, folk and history of the inhabitants of the Pacific Northwest.

Our Lady Liberty, Clyde Keller art print, Statue of Liberty, Music CD
"Our Lady Liberty" Statue of Liberty from Ferry New York, July 1977
Interpretive Art Print based upon the July 1977 photograph
Inspired by the beautiful antil-war song written and performed by Sonja L. Reiter with the talented Jon Bach on piano. I took this documentary photo on the way to Ellis Island from the ferry boat looking out towards the Statue of Liberty and to Ellis Island where so many immigrants to the United States first set shore. "Lady Liberty" the subject of her poignant song signifies the importance of this symbol for universal human rights and more recently-- a world free from war. 16x20 Inch archival giclee print Image Dimensions are @12x18 inches Heavyweight Epson Satin paper Signed/Dated on lower white border

Picturesque Truck, East Paulina Lake, Clyde Keller photo
Picturesque Truck East Paulina Lake Resort Newberry National Volcanic Monument Park
The view captures a close-up view of a picturesque truck door found at the East Paulina Lake Resort withinside the Newberry National Volcanic Monument Park. The old truck was brightly lit by the afternoon sun. The play of light shows off the antique forms juxtaposed by the bright saturated colors found on the pink rusty door and green wood framed pickup bed. The setting by East Paulina Lake is perfect for this old 1940s truck which once served the needs of the resort. Its placement near the lakeside provides a sense of time and place removed from the present day resort which offers such amenities as an internet cafe.

____________________________________________
As a complement to my recent Julian Assange Art Print here is my tribute to Robert Kennedy who championed dissent and peace. ____________________________________________
Robert was a living embodiment of his slain brother. He represents the resurrection of the promise that he and his brother embodied while in the White House. That restoration, after Dallas, took many forms: Civil Rights at home, Human Rights abroad and the end of Apartheid for all people. His message and charisma and his policies were understood as ending all of the cruel and artificial divisions allowing him to bring a process of healing between people.
In this art print Robert is shown making a stump speech captured during a whistle stop train tour. His inspirational words are shown as a backdrop (behind him across the sky) in a beautiful archival print. RFK argued for ending the War in Vietnam, citing that the North Vietnamese leader, Ho Chi Minh, had quoted the American Declaration of Independence as their inspiration for them to declare independence from the French. Robert embraced peaceful coexistence in an era of militarism and like his brother was receptive to a standing down from armed rivalry with Russia. As visionaries the Kennedys stood for ideals that could not only lead to peaceful coexistence but transcend the antagonisms generated by opposing social systems.
SPEECH EXCERPT DISPLAYED IN ART PRINT:
“What the students of Poland now fight for, what the students of Czechoslovakia appear to have won is not a victory of ideology; it is a victory of the spirit. This spirit has been heard in the defined courtrooms of Moscow, in the streets of Spain, and in the schools all over the United States. It is he spirit of youth. It's not a time of life, but a state of mind, a temper of the will, a quality of the imagination, a preference for courage over timidity; of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. It is the spirit which knows the difference between force and reason. It does not accept the failures of today as the excuse for the cruelties of tomorrow. It knows the wisdom of Archimedes and that says, 'Give me a place to stand and I can move the world,' and youth is finding a place to stand. That is the spirit I want to see return to the United States of America and that is why I'm running for President of the United States.” RFK- April 17, 1968

Robson Alley Play of Light, Vancouver BC, Canada, Clyde Keller Photo
Robson Alley Play of Light Vancouver, B.C. Canada
What struck me immediately about this late afternoon summer street scene was the incredible range of diffused but brilliant light falling upon this urban alley way. Transformed into black and white the print reveals an altered reality of what is an otherwise common everyday scene. The subject brightness range has been expanded through bracketing exposures to bring sky, clouds, buildings and street into a dazzling coherency! The location was quite near the HMV Music Store on Robson Street in downtown Vancouver.
Robson offers a magnificent variety of international restaurants and shops known world wide for its high fashion and Art Museum, just a few blocks away from this photograph's location. Photographed with a Nikon D300 and a 15mm wide angle lens. Part of a continuing series on Vancouver British Columbia, celebrating its people, architecture and beauty.

16x20 Inch Archival Giclee Print Satin Paper, Pigmented Inks Image Dimensions @ 11.6x17 Inches with white border Signed/Titled and Dated by Clyde Keller
Presented in Archival Sleeve, Unframed SHIPPED FLAT, Insured with Tracking
From Original Kodachrome
"Sauvies Island Artistry" is an interpretive landscape captured on Sauvies Island during the summer of 1975. The fauvish color palette is evocative of impressionist works from the last century and in particular my grandfather, Clyde Leon Keller Sr., who was well known as one of Oregon's premier impressionist oil painters. Sauvies Island held a particular fascination for him; he is highly regarded for his prolific love of this scenic island, first visited by him in the early twentieth century-- he returned to paint there for nearly fifty years through 1959 and worked on unfinished canvasses until near his death in 1961.
This poetic image is included in a larger documentary project concerning the beauty, folk and history of the inhabitants of the pacific Northwest.

Smith Rocks vista, Canyons Ranch Gate, Clyde Keller photo
Canyons Ranch Gate View of Smith Rocks
Shown are the Smith Rocks as seen looking through the Canyons Ranch Gate. Smith Rocks has been the subject of many paintings, photographs and works of art. We found this view literally chasing the last glimmerings of light as sunset approached. The sun darted in and out of the clouds and for a brief one minute (or less) presented us with this splash of golden light striking only the rocks and the gate! We were attracted to the cool steel blue colors of the clouds set against the brightly lit stone, wood and road... and rather Irish looking at that.

The Old Worthington Pioneer Gravestone, Clyde Keller photo
The Old Worthington Pioneer Gravestone Historic cemetery, Washington County, Oregon
Graveyards figured largely into my pictorial landscapes from the late 1960s throughout the next decade. They were incorporated into various publishing and photography projects with a bias towards their historical relevance and pictorial splendor. The Worthington 1969 image remains a favorite, taken at a family pioneer cemetery very near the end of day. The light is revealing of the granite gravestone and the Queen Anne's Lace making them seem to do a ballet of sorts against the shadowy rural background which includes an older wood frame barn-- all are frozen in time against the backdrop of rapid change. It is a meditation upon the past all too quickly forgotten, brought out from the darkness to be remembered once again.

My archival giclee print offers an exquisite range of tone and brilliancy faithfully capturing this historic Skoggin Valley, Oregon subject. The wide up-close view of the historic Gravestone is rendered in an almost 3D like perspective that is most inviting the eye. The detail is enhanced by the use of an ultra sharp 55mm "Micro" Nikkor lens.

From Original Kodachrome, circa 1981
SHIPPING INCLUDED IN PRICE
This impressionistic image of the Smith Tower was taken in January of 1981. The fog was thick and partially obscured the view of Seattle's most venerable historic building, once it's most modern "skyscraper" and now revered for its beauty.
This is a most imposing rendering and towering perspective of the Smith Tower as it is partially engulfed by the fog. The image colors reflect the January light with the sun low on the skyline providing a diffused sunlight-- here shown partially illuminating the last few stories on the tower itself. I couldn't help but be reminded of the fantastic Flatiron Building in Manhattan, New York-- photographed by Alfred Steiglitz over 107 years ago.
The print is made to museum grade standards and should last well over 150 years under normal display conditions. This is a handsome print of a great Seattle landmark. Note that the copyright information does not appear on the final signed print.

Clear Sleeved on Foam Core Shipped Flat, Insured with Tracking Here is an image taken from the street in the late afternoon in my neighborhood with fascinating textures, shadows and forms. This just struck me as having a delicate balance with rubble seemingly in opposition to the "Mars-Like Canyon" (Mariner Valley, also known as the 2,500 long, Valles Marineris Canyon) dashing laterally across the lower center of the print. The long vertically cast shadows set up a delightful contrasting visual rhythm. This type of image changes rapidly, so the impulse to shoot had to be decisive... no lingering with the onset of fading light. Please Enjoy!

Watching the Bessie Butte Firestorm, Clyde Keller photo art print
Watching the Bessie Butte Firestorm Bessie Butte, Deschutes National Forest Wildland Fire
This is a view of the No. 18, Bessie Butte Wildfire which burned in mixed conifer and sagebrush about 3,800 acres. The photo depicts onlookers who were hypnotically drawn to the approaching fire and to the possible destruction of property 4 miles southeast of the Bend city limits. The fire (which did not destroy these homes) was contained on July 26th was human-caused. The Booth Fire (which burned concurrently) filled the Deschutes County area with dense smoke for weeks. On August 20, 2003 the burning fires became a Federally Declared Disaster in the Deschutes National Forest, near Sisters, Oregon. The 2003 Booth Fire ravaged over 60,000 acres of old growth forest by September 20th. This magnificent forest had withstood many smaller fires until this controversial catastrophe left its mark on the land.

Windswept Cemetery at Paisley, Oregon Outback, Clyde Keller photo
Windswept Cemetery at Paisley Oregon Outback Pioneer Landmark Memorial Day Weekend Floral Display
An intimate pictorial view of some of the floral displays left by families at the historic Pioneer Landmark, Paisley Cemetery as Memorial Day weekend approached. The photograph was taken May 22, 2008 at the Paisley Cemetery, Oregon. This historic cemetery can be found by following the Scenic Outback Biway (Hwy 31) from LaPine, Oregon... finally connecting with Lakeview. Dust storms and high velocity winds were felt throughout the area leaving some of the floral display urns topsy-turvy. The subdued diffused lighting was indicative of a severe change in weather which brought snow later in the evening, unusual for a region plagued by drought. The sun's orb can be seen through the dust clouds in the background... the effect of the intense wind on the blurred flowers contributes to an evocative mood cast by the weather during the last moments of daylight.

Windy Point Storm Belknap Crater, Oregon High Cascades
The view captures a westerly summer storm approaching Windy Point, part of the dramatic High Cascade basaltic basaltic lava flows found within the Belknap Crater region. Photographed from Windy Point at 4,909 feet. A Sonnar lens was employed to capture the sweep and stark contrast of the basaltic lava flows, monolithic rocks, barren tree and windswept stormy sky. We were particularly huge scale of the eruption shown to impressive effect by using a panoramic technique.
