Cannon Beach, "Christmas Day Storm"
View from Ecola State Park,1963
My Christmas Day Storm photo has remained one of my personal favorites for nearly 48 years. It was captured in the midst of blustery winds and incessant rain. I had made a trek through the woods at the south end of Ecola Park from my grandmother's beach house. Luckily, there was a lull as I emerged from the woods to capture a brief burst of distant sunlight breaking through the dense cloud cover. Still, my lens had to be protected from the rain and the storm resumed less than a minute after I captured this memorable seascape. Please enjoy... I've yet to see anything like this since!
