Pictured is a view of an older flatbed Chevrolet truck laid out to pasture so to speak in the hinterlands (back roads) of the Washington County Farming Country -- as it looked over three decades ago. The photo celebrates the valley's heritage. Photographed in September of 1977 and part of a popular photographic calendar entitled "Valley People." One of my favorite images from the 1978 Valley People Documentary Series, but archived for too many years. Now, 34 years later, with much of Washington County engulfed by change, these photographs are a precious historical remembrance, capturing the unvarnished flavor of its heritage.
