Original Clyde Keller photo Can Be Flying Strange days ahead Portland, Oregon
From my psychedelic hippie film archive (Including the Ken Kesey Collection)
The documentary street scene image was my first real encounter with what was to become the Hippie or Psychedelic Culture. The central figure caught my eye with his assorted adornments, rounded spectacles, knives and beaded boots. Dissent against the Vietnam War was growing in a climate where drug experimentation almost became the norm. This image captures the strange atmosphere that prevailed during this time where counter cultural expression reached a dramatic turning point leading to the questioning of our institutions, lifestyle and hegemony.
The negative from which this print is made is in pristine condition-- it is also a print I've meaning to make for over 45 years. This quadtone print recaptures the look and offers an exquisite range of tone, depth and brilliancy... faithfully capturing this vintage documentary portrait.
16x20 Inch Archival B&W Giclee Print Image Dimensions are @11.3x17 inches Heavyweight Epson Satin paper Signed/Dated on lower white border Clear Sleeved on foam core Shipped flat, insured with tracking
