This is my earliest surviving Kodachrome from 1962 made when I was still fourteen years old-- and a glimpse at Yamasaki's Arches in a beautiful composition. Designed by Minoru Yamasaki, Pacific Science Center's white arches rise above a court of reflecting pools. The image was captured near the Century 21 Exposition which featured the Astronaut John Glen exhibit, (first man to orbit the earth) located outside the Pacific Science Center not far from where this photo was captured. Glen's Space Capsule, drew huge crowds, but I was equally drawn to this magnificent pictorial view.
The color is in remarkable condition-- the original was kept in dark storage and shows little if any deterioration after 48 years! Please enjoy!
This archival color giclee print offers an exquisite range of tonality and brilliancy faithfully capturing this vintage view now 30 years ago. Suitable for immediate safe viewing and ready for framing. The title art is on the print, but not the copyright information.
