"PROFILE IN COURAGE"
This deliberative portrait captures Robert in a courageous profile as he prepares to greet his campaign supporters at a night rally held in Portland, Oregon. His vision for nuclear disarmament, world peace and for the ending of the Vietnam War were projected to audiences world wide throughout these last few weeks before his assassination. Here he is shown, stalwart, as he warmly greets his supporters.
The camera I used for all of the Kennedy photographs was an original Motorized Nikon F with Nikkor Lenses. The photograph was taken with an 85mm Nikkor, a personal favorite for fast available light photography. Exposures were made on Kodak Tri-X B&W film. The original transparencies and negatives have been kept in dark storage and are in pristine condition for their vintage.
