OREGON COAST ROMANCE
"SITKA GHOST TREE"
1,700 Years Old Sitka, Partially Petrified
From A Subduction Earthquake
Neskowin, Oregon Coast
16x20 Inch Archival Giclee Print
Image @ 16x10.5 inches on heavyweight Epson Satin Paper
Signed/Dated and Titled on lower white border
Shrink Wrapped, Corner Mounted, Shipped Flat
These are the remains of a Sitka forest once standing along the Oregon Coastline at Neskowin, partially petrified and nearly 1,700 years old. The trees were exposed for the first time (just recently) when the beach sand was not replaced after winter storms, something that is new for this coastline and may be the result of global warming. Now barnacles grow on them and they are beginning to decompose. The next quake is overdue, so please enjoy. This scene will vanish when it is subducted during the next quake. Photographed on September 26, 2009.
This archival giclee print offers an exquisite range of color, tone and brilliancy faithfully capturing this atmospheric subject. Although the view is wide the perspective is natural inviting the eye to explore the scene in all of its glorious detail. Makes a strong impression. Suitable for immediate safe viewing (the print is shrink wrapped on foam core board) and ready for framing.
