Here is one of the last Whistle Stops ever made by a politician.  This 1968 photograph of Robert Kennedy greeting the public is as American as "apple pie."  The train route included towns between Portland and Eugene, Oregon. This photograph dates from the US presidential campaign during the May Oregon Primary and was the last stop south where Kennedy spoke at the University of oregon stadium.  An 85mm Nikkor was used with a motorized Nikon. The original Tri-X film B&W negative has been kept in dark storage and is in pristine condition for the making of this "full bodied" toned print.
