ROBERT KENNEDY COLLECTION
Two 11x14 Inch B&W Photographic Prints
Printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Lustre Paper
Signed/Dated and Titled, Sleeved
"DISTURBINGLY PROPHETIC"
Here are two special documentary arts images from the May 1968 Oregon Primary.
"PATHOS" is a 1968 Portrait of Robert Kennedy as he was about to enter into the Oregon Primary presidential race. There was always a sense of tragedy about RFK mixed in with the charisma... especially as caught in this telling (off-guard) moment. This disturbingly prophetic pose captures the subjective undercurrents that were always with him, especially regarding the assassination of his brother five years earlier.
"CABOOSE VIEWPOINT" Campaign Whistle Stop photograph taken from inside a Caboose at the Albany, Oregon Train Station. This is an unusual composition with a subjective point of view. Robert is shown with his hand to his forehead. The evocative (tragic) mood created by Kennedy's pose is framed and juxtaposed by the tuba (right) adding to the drama.
