"WHISTLE STOP GATHERING"
Albany, Oregon
May 18, 1968 Whistle Stop U.S. Presidential Campaign
In this classic piece of Americana I was able to photograph one of the last "Whistle Stops" with Robert Kennedy greeting a crowd of supporters. The location was the train depot at Albany, Oregon. The train route left from Portland heading south to Eugene making a several stops including a major speech at the University of oregon Stadium later that afternoon. Selected by the RFK Center for Human Rights in a Fall Promotion for the renaming of the Triborough Bridge (RFK Bridge) with the NYC Transit Authority.
