RFK Flag Portrait May 24, 1968 Campaign Speech, Astoria, Oregon Ethel Kennedy seated, stage left
Classic 1968 photograph of Robert F. Kennedy giving a speech at a political rally in Astoria, Oregon with the American Flag filling the frame in the background. This photograph dates from the US presidential campaign during the May Oregon Primary. I captured this classic speech portrait in Astoria with a 300mm Nikkor lens telephoto, a personal... razor sharp favorite. Ethel Kennedy is shown stage left. Robert and Ethel also visited Fort Stevens State Park for a beach walk that has been well publicized. Exposures were made on Kodak Ektachrome 64 film.
Selected by the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights and by the New York Transit Authority for use in a promotion (Fall 2008/Television PSA) for changing the name of the Triborough Bridge to the RFK Bridge.
