Clyde Leon Keller was an internationally known, prolific artist who is well known and collected throughout the Pacific Northwest. Sometimes cited as "The Dean Of Oregon Artists" his impressionist landscapes and seacapes continue to be amongst the most highly sought after examples at auctions and through private sales. He is a founding member of The Oregon Society of Artists in Portland, Oregon. Awarded over 275 prizes in his lifetime. Biography and color reproductions in the celebrated reference art history book, "Oregon Painters: The First Hundred years (1859-1959)."

DESCRIPTION:  Beautiful original impressionist plein-air painting created in 1938. The inscription reads "Painted from Sauvies Island - West Side Hills in Background." Please see detail photos below. Back Signed in India Ink, typical for Keller since the teens. Front signature in India Ink as shown in detail photo above. Condition is excellent with clean vibrant colors. No observable flaws or deterioration. Painted on hard board. Original paper backing preserved at frame's edge where title is shown. Painting was originally intended for sale to Dr. Archie Van Cleve a regular customer to Keller. Includes original Keller Store Business Card, pasted to the upper left corner. Note that the frame shows some wear, most noticeable on the edges (as rubbings) but is original.

2.- 8x10 inch B&W Photographic Print (restored) of Clyde Leon Keller taken in the late teens by his wife, "Marie."
