BETTY MOORE MOORE LOFQUIST (January 11, 1924 -- April 8, 2008)   a native Oregonian Artist was affiliated with Art Central, the Mirror Pond Gallery, the Bruce Spruce Gallery, the Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program for Native American Weavers and the Lake Oswego Crafts & Art League.    Born in Portland, Oregon, Betty studied art at Oregon State University and Marylhurst College. Believing that learning is essential to continuing growth, she has studied with several well known Northwest artists and was affiliated with major art organizations. Betty Lofquist's work has been shown at the Portland Art Museum, at several major galleries, and in many juried shows. Her collages and weavings are in private corporate collections throughout the Northwest.   Extensive world travel and an interest in Northwestern archeology have also been an influencing factor in her work.

DESCRIPTION: Original late 1990s oil painting from a series based upon her experiences with the Navajo Indians and other Native American influences, resembling Northwest Coast Indian Artwork as can be seen in this series of paintings.   This beautiful framed canvas, 49 x 39 x 2 is signed as shown in photo detail directly above.  This work is several we are offering that come directly from her studio which we recently purchased.  As such, this particular painting is one that was particularly valued by Betty as one of her prized works.

CONDITION: Both Wood Frame and Painting are in pristine condition.
