Bird Lady of Pioneer Square
Seattle Pioneer Square, Occidental Park
Geraldine Peterson feeding the Pigeons
My vintage documentary arts image captures Geraldine Peterson feeding the Pigeons in Occidental Park, Seattle, Washington. It was taken a Nikon F2 film camera and an 85mm lens, appropriate for a natural, unobtrusive rendering of the subject. Photographed in 1980 and originally published in a popular local photographic calendar entitled "Market & Square."
Geraldine said, "It's the sparrows you must watch out for, they are sneaky."
