On Sacred Grounds Oregon Outback at Summer lake Ancient mortar and pestle in historical setting May 22, 2008 near Paisley
An intimate photographic view of stone artifacts ( Mortar & Pestel) placed back into their natural setting at a lake shore once inhabited by the Snakes Indians (including Northern Paiute, Pitt and Shoshone) for a period of nearly 7,000 years. These semi-nomadic gatherers inhabited the Lakeview region of Oregon. Artifacts are quite similar to those displayed at the Favell Museum in Klamath Falls. Many of the examples on display at the museum were found during the foundation excavation while the facility was being built and represent works by the Klamath and Modoc indians. The volcanic materials from which these Mortars were made extend eastward into the Lakeview region. Our Mortar and Pestel came from a farm over 85 years ago (1920s) in that area. It is a particularly beautiful unspoiled example in unbroken condition.
16x20 Inch Art Print Image Dimensions are @11.3x17 inches Heavyweight Epson Satin paper Signed/Dated on lower white border
Clear Sleeved on foam core Shipped flat, insured with delivery confirmation
