Windy Point StormBelknap Crater, Oregon High Cascades The view captures a westerly summer storm approaching Windy Point, part of the dramatic High Cascade basaltic basaltic lava flows found within the Belknap Crater region. Photographed from Windy Point at 4,909 feet. A Sonnar lens was employed to capture the sweep and stark contrast of the basaltic lava flows, monolithic rocks, barren tree and windswept stormy sky. We were particularly huge scale of the eruption shown to impressive effect by using a panoramic technique.
