"John Simon Skagit Valley Wood Carver"
This vintage documentary arts image captures Skagit Valley Artist, John Simon (Vintage 1980) carving a wood sculpture. At the time I met him, John liked to work in wood and stone. This portrait was made as he was found, working by his barn. John is known regionally and currently exhibits "local scenes, abundant nature and interiors in oils." He was included in the Arts Alive International Arts Exhibition and Local Open Show held in November 2006 at the Maple Center Hall in LaConner, Washington. The photograph was published in photographic essay, "Skagit Sring" which appeared in the Sunday May 18th issue of the PI Northwest Magazine.
