June 1975 on the North Fork of the Nehalem River
My impressionist rendering captures Nehalem River reflections as found about 12 miles inland from the hamlet of Nehalem on the Northwest Oregon Coast. The image possesses a wide color palette embracing river, forest and sky. The reflections shimmer from the refraction of light as it plays upon still and rippled waters on this magnificent summer morning taken 35 years ago. Made from the original 35mm chrome transparency. The camera used was a Nikon F film camera equipped with a 300mm Nikkor and favored for its ability to dramatically compress compositional elements.
